The last surviving astronaut from the first successful crewed mission in NASA’s Apollo program has died.
Walter Cunningham was board Apollo 7 when it blasted off in July of 1968 on an 11-day mission that paved the way for the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969.
His wife confirms he passed away Tuesday from complications suffered in a fall.
Walter Cunningham was 90.
