AWARD WINNING CANADIAN COOKING AUTHOR HAS DIED

One of Canada’s most well-known cookbook authors has died.

Jean Pare, an Alberta-born international cooking icon and Order of Canada recipient has died in Edmonton at the age of 95.

Pare wrote 200 Company’s Coming cookbooks and ran her own catering company for 18 years.

After 30 years, more than 30 million cookbooks have been sold. Each one provided recipes containing accessible and affordable ingredients.

Pare was named a Member of the Order of Canada and was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Award.
