He was eulogized as an inspirational man, who worked with all parties in Ottawa.
Former federal minister of natural resources Jim Carr has been laid to rest in Winnipeg.
Hundreds of friends, family and colleagues from his life in federal and provincial politics and from business attended the memorial service for the Liberal M-P.
Former Manitoba premier, Conservative Gary Filmon, spoke of Carr’s willingness to work across party lines, even during a time of constitutional debate.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave Carr’s family the flag that was flying on Parliament Hill the day of his death.
Jim Carr died last week at 71 after a battle with blood cancer.
