RASCALS DRUMMER DEAD AT 78

Dino Danelli, the founding drummer of rock band the Rascals has died. He was 78.

Danelli’s death was confirmed by a friend and archivist of the band, Joe Russo, who shared the news to Facebook.

According to Russo, Danelli had health issues that began in 2017.

Between 1966 and 1968 the New Jersey act embraced soul music, reaching the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 with nine singles, including the “Good Lovin”, “Groovin” and “People Got to Be Free.”

The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
