Russia fired over 70 missiles at Ukraine in one of the largest attacks since the start of the war.
Ukrainian officials say the missiles knocked out power in the second largest city and have forced Kyiv to implement emergency blackouts across the country.
The power grid operator says it would take longer to repair the infrastructure and restore power than it did after previous missile strikes.
Priority will be given to hospitals, water supply facilities and sewage treatment plants.
Two people were killed when an apartment block was hit in central Kryvyi Rih (photo above) and another died in shelling in Kherson, while Kharkiv was also badly hit.
”There is colossal damage to infrastructure, primarily the energy system,” says Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
Meanwhile, Russian-appointed officials in occupied eastern Ukraine claim 12 died in Ukrainian shelling.
