Federal N-D-P Leader Jagmeet Singh is requesting an emergency debate in the House of Commons to discuss what he calls the urgent and escalating situation in Canada’s children’s hospitals.

Singh says it’s he’s talking about more than just planning for increased, sustainable federal healthcare funding in the future.

Singh is also threatening to pull his party’s support for the governing Liberals if immediate and substantial action not taken to address the healthcare crisis.

Just last week, Ottawa’s Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) called in support from the Canadian Red Cross to bolster the staff who are treating record numbers of babies and children with respiratory illnesses.
