Canadian doctors are calling for urgent reform of the healthcare system amid a rise of respiratory illnesses in children.

In a statement the Canadian Medical Association says children are now suffering the most as healthcare workers struggle to keep up.

And the group add that kids are far more impacted than adults with longer wait times for surgeries, diagnostics and mental health support.

The Association is also asking the public to help
by getting flu and COVID vaccines, mask up and stay when sick.

Until there’s change, the group says Canadians will continue to suffer as the healthcare system’s resources are stretched thin.
