Even though Western nations are pressuring Moscow to put a price restriction on its oil exports, India’s foreign minister has indicated that his country will keep buying oil from Russia.

According to Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, it is improper for European nations to put their energy requirements first while requesting India to choose a different course.

India, a significant consumer of Russian oil, has not yet agreed to buy Russian oil at the $60 per barrel price cap set by the European Union.

The action aims to reduce the revenue from fossil fuels used to fund Moscow’s armed forces.

Jaishankar was speaking to reporters in New Delhi after holding talks with his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock, in which they discussed bilateral relations and Russia’s war in Ukraine.
