Given the Advil and Tylenol shortage has extended beyond children’s pain and fever drugs to other over-the-counter and prescription medication, it’s not surprising to hear Shoppers Drug Mart’s parent company reached a sales record this fall.
Loblaw Cos. Ltd. President and Chair Galen Weston says the combination of COVID, RSV and influenza is why.
He adds the ”unusual pressure” on the industry has led to shortages, leaving retailers with limited stock for some medications.
Weston says while manufacturers are working hard to get more back on the shelves for sick Canadians, it’s difficult to know just when shortages will end.
