Most Zoomers will remember him as a member of Peter and Gordon from the 1960s.

 

But there is much more to Peter Asher than you might think.

He’s been a musician, manager, producer, executive, author known for his work with (among others) Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor.

He’s also the subject of a new book exploring his unique run in the industry.  It’s called” Peter Asher: A life in Music.”

It recounts how Asher was a pop star during the British Invasion, the former head of A&R for Apple Records an artist manager and record producer.

The book was written by Davis Jacks and after reading it, the now 78-year old said “perhaps my life has been a bit more interesting than I thought.”

The book is out next week.
