Don’t say you weren’t warned.
Expect major delays in south Mississauga because of a partial closure of the QEW at Hurontario Street.
Starting tonight at 10 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m., drivers will be forced onto the off-ramps there, then immediately diverted back onto the Queen E using the Hurontario on-ramps.
However, Hurontario will be closed between the North and South Service road, which means no access to and from the highway.
This is all because of the construction of the Hurontario LRT, which, when done, will run from the Port Credit GO Station up to Steeles Avenue.
It’s expected to be done in the fall of 2024.
Area residents and businesses can expect increased traffic this weekend on local streets and will heard noise and vibration from construction equipment.
Drivers looking to get onto the QEW will have to use Erin Mills Parkway, Mississauga Road or Cawthra Road.
