Monday October 17th marks one week until municipal elections are held across Ontario.

According to the latest Forum poll, John Tory is poised to easily win his third term as Toronto’s mayor.

Tory has 56-percent support of those surveyed while his closest challenger Urbanist Gil Penalosa has 20-percent support.

Mayoral candidates John Tory (top left), Gil Penalosa (top right), Sarah Climenhaga (bottom right), Jack Yan (bottom centre) and Chloe Brown participated in the CARP debate Thursday Oct. 13th.

Toronto residents got to know four of Tory’s challengers a bit better this past Thursday during the CARP mayoral debate here at The ZoomerPlex moderated by Libby Znaimer.

Monday October 17th at 2pm, three of those four challengers Gil Penalosa, Sarah Climenhaga, and Chloe Brown will join Stephen Punwasi to debate the incumbent mayor at an event hosted by the Toronto Region Board of Trade.

Advance voting wrapped up in Toronto on Friday evening with 30-percent fewer voters turning out than in 2014 and seven percent fewer than in 2018.

Just under 116,000 Toronto voters cast their ballots at one of the 50 advance voting locations.

On election day, Monday October 24th, voting locations will open again from 10am to 8pm.
