The Canadian military will proceed with plans to kick out unvaccinated members despite dropping its mandatory vaccination policy.
Vaccines will no longer be a mandatory prerequisite for all in uniform.
Instead requirements will be based on roles and responsibilities of individual Armed Forces members.
However, Defence chief General Wayne Eyre says those already told to leave because they refused to get vaccinated will still be released.
”The unwillingness to follow a lawful order is a slippery slope,” according to Eyre.
”We want members who will follow lawful orders, who will put the safety and security of others first.”
The Department of National Defence says about 300 members were ordered to hang up their uniforms after refusing to roll up their sleeves.
Another 100 quit voluntarily.
