Toronto’s housing market continues to cool off when it comes to the number of sales and listings, but prices were still up in September compared with August of this year.

The latest report from the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board says home sales last month (5,038) fell 44-percent compared with September of 2021 and 10-percent from August.

The market also saw the lowest number of new listings for September in twenty years at 11,237.

The sales and listings numbers mark a continuation of a market cool down that has already put a damper on bidding wars and discouraged some sellers from listing their properties.

The average home price in September of $1,086,762 was a 4.2 percent dip from last September but an almost one-percent increase from August of this year.
