He was a founding member and the original drummer for The Doobie Brothers.

Variety is reporting that John Hartman (or “Little John” as he was known) has passed away.  No cause of death was announced.

Hartman was one of nine members of  The Doobie Brothers inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.  He kept the beat on classics like “Listen to the Music,” “Long Train Runnin'” and “Jesus is Just Alright.”

John Hartman was 72.
