At Queen’s Park, MPPs reaffirmed oaths of allegiance to King Charles III.

The legislature held tributes for Queen Elizabeth from provincial politicians including Premier Doug Ford, who says he’s one of many Canadians who will miss Queen Elizabeth dearly.

“On behalf of all Ontarians, may God bless the memory of Queen Elizabeth II and may God bless the reign of our Monarch King Charles II, love live the King,” said Premier Doug Ford.

In his speech, Ford says that over the Queen’s 70-year reign, the world never stopped changing but that she was a constant presence that gave people comfort, such as when she reassured the world that the pandemic wouldn’t always prevent people from coming together.

The legislature is expected to adjourn until after the October 24th municipal election.
