Residents remembered the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 in New York yesterday.
Today it’s their turn.
As usual, the Broadway cast and crew of “Come From Away” have an appointment with an aircraft carrier.
Every year, to honour September 11th, they help box thousands of meals for food banks and perform for the volunteers aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid.
The musical is set in Gander, Newfoundland which opened its arms to some 7,000 airline passengers diverted there when the U.S. government shut down airspace during 9/11.
In all some 38 planes landed in Gander from dozens of countries.
This year’s visit to the Intrepid will be bittersweet; it’s the last time the show will send representatives from Broadway.
“Come from Away” ends it’s five year run in New York, October 2nd.
