Starting today, eligible Toronto voters can apply to vote by mail until Friday, September 23.

The new option was made available for the first time last year in the Scarborough-Agincourt by-election but marks the first time mail-in voting will be available in the general municipal election.

Once a voter’s application is approved, they’ll be sent a mail-in voting package later this month.

You can apply to vote online by visiting the city’s website  or by calling Toronto Elections at 311 to receive Voting Proxy Appointment Form.

The completed form must be received by noon Friday October 21st,  three days before the election.

A voting proxy can only vote on behalf of one person unless they are voting on behalf of immediate family members. Immediate family members are spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren. A voting proxy can vote on behalf of more than one immediate family member.
