There’s a new Immersive art experience coming to Toronto.
“King Tut: Magic Journey to the Light” opens Friday following on the success of Immersive Van Gogh, and Frida Kahlo.
Lighthouse Immersive culture consultant Richard Ouzounian says the company has sold 5 million tickets to its shows at 20 venues since starting just two years ago.
“I think we’ve all come to believe it’s a new trend, people literally want to immerse themselves in something, they want to be surrounded by it, they want to have a different take on an old experience,” Ouzounian told Classical FM’s Mark Wigmore. “It’s not going to replace going to an art gallery or going to a museum but for some people who don’t want to do that or can’t do that, we make it possible.”
The exhibit is being launched to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the boy King’s tomb.
