Here’s another sign we are moving further into a post-COVID world.
Broadway theatres will be allowed to drop their mask mandates starting of July 1st, making them optional.
Broadway has maintained fairly restrictive audience policies since theaters reopened last summer. Patrons were required to show proof of vaccination up until April 30th. Since then, theatres have continued to require patrons to wear masks except while eating and drinking.
The Broadway League plans to re-evaluate the situation on a
monthly basis.
Yesterday, Mirvish announced it was dropping the mask mandate at its Toronto Theatres as of July first. However, wearing masks is still encouraged.
