Ottawa has announced that vaccine mandates will be suspended for travellers wanting to take a plane or train in Canada and for federally regulated employees starting next week.
However, visitors and Canadians entering from abroad will still be required to meet entry requirements and masks will continue being mandatory.
Federal employees and transportation workers in federally regulated sectors will no longer need to be fully vaccinated as a condition of work.
Those on unpaid leave because of their vaccination status will be invited to return to their jobs.
Vaccine mandates for cruise ship passengers and crews will remain in place.
