He’s best remembered for hunting down a long-overdue library book on the TV sitcom “Seinfeld.”

Prolific character actor Philip Baker Hall has died.

Among his many roles was that of Lieutenant Bookman on Seinfeld and former U.S. President Richard Nixon in Robert Altman’s 1984 drama Secret Honor.

The actor’s wife confirms he died surrounded by loved ones at his home in California.

Philip Baker Hall was 90.
