96-year-old Queen Elizabeth ll has arrived at Windsor ahead of four days of Platinum Jubilee celebrations that begin Thursday.
Royal superfan Mary-Jane Willows is already in place on the road leading to Buckingham Palace as excitement builds for the celebration of the 70-year reign of the Monarch.
“This is going to be quite emotional, it’s going to be quite fantastic, I think there’s a fun element, a crazy element, as you can see today we’re all out here in the pouring rain having fun.”
Trooping The Colour is the first event on Thursday, when thousands are expected in central London for the Queen’s Birthday Parade and the accompanying pomp and pageantry. The Queen will later appear on the palace balcony for a traditional RAF flypast.
Friday will see a service of thanksgiving for the Queen at St Paul’s Cathedral.
Meantime, the world famous Stonehenge this week features projected images marking the Queen’s 70 year reign.
But it’s sparked outrage from some who say the projected images are offensive because the site is sacred and so the tribute is inappropriate.
The famous stone circle has eight images of the Queen – from her 1953 coronation to the present.
