Canadians are mostly supportive of how the Trudeau government has responded and sought to help Ukraine, while many say they’re doing they’re bit to help.
According to a new poll from the Angus Reid Institute, about one quarter of Canadians (27%) say they’ve donated money to support efforts to help Ukrainians since Russia began the war in late February.
Those 55 and older are the ones who’ve mostly given of their own money, while nearly the same number (28%) have posted something in support on social media, and a handful (3%) have sponsored or supported a Ukrainian refugee or refugee family.
The survey also shows three-in-five (61%) approve of the Trudeau government’s response, while two-in-five (38%) feel Canada has not done enough, with the same number saying it’s offered about the right level of assistance.
