If you are interested in serving on Toronto municipal council, or the city’s school boards, the nomination process for this fall’s election opens up today.

You can file a nomination paper from this morning until 2 p.m. August 19th.

You must file a nomination paper with the City Clerk in order to raise or spend money on a campaign.

Your nomination paper must include at least 25 declarations of endorsement and costs $200 for those running for mayor, $100 for those running for councillor or school board trustee

Nomination fees are refunded after candidates file the required financial statement and original signatures are required on all forms.

The municipal election is scheduled for Monday, October 24th.
