LION OF FRENCH THEATRE AND CINEMA DIES AT 96

The arts community in France is mourning the passing of a legendary actor, described as a lion of French theatre and cinema.

In all Michel Bouquet appeared in more than 100 movies, beginning in the 1940s.

He won two best actor Césars, the French equivalent of an Oscar.

Bouquet’s death was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron who said for seven decades Bouquet brought theatre and cinema to the highest degree of incandescence and truth.

Michel Bouquet was 96.
