After a high profile visit from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the weekend, Ukraine’s President Volodomyr Zelenskyy is now expecting the presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to meet with him in Kyiv.

Online posts by these leaders today show them standing outside a Ukrainian railroad passenger car, but did not give details about the trip.

Estonia’s President Alar Karis said in his post, “we are visiting Ukraine to show strong support to the Ukrainian people and will meet with dear friend President Zelenskyy.”

At the same time, Ukraine’s military can now expect another more diverse package of support from the U.S.

A senior U.S. defence official spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, saying the support would be announced in the coming days and would total about $750-million in addition to a previous package of $800-million.

The extra aid is a sign that the Biden administration intends to continue expanding its support for Ukraine’s defence efforts against Vladimir Putin’s war.

The U.S. President meantime, says Russia’s war in Ukraine amounts to “genocide”, accusing Putin of trying to “wipe out the idea of even being a Ukrainian.”

Biden’s comments have drawn praise from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has encouraged western leaders to use the term genocide to describe Russia’s invasion of his country.
