Ontario residents 60 and older will be able to book a fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine beginning tomorrow morning at 8am.

Health Minister Christine Elliott released a statement on Wednesday morning which reads:

“Expanding booster eligibility will provide an extra layer of protection against the Omicron and BA 2 variants, and in addition to anti-virals, are another tool the province is using to live with and manage COVID 19.”

People who are 60-plus and live in Ontario may book their fourth shot starting at 8am Thursday on the provincial vaccination appointment booking portal ontario.ca/covid19 or by calling 1-833-943-3900.

Fourth doses in Ontario are already available to long-term care and retirement home residents as well as those who are immunocompromised.

Members of the National Advisory Committee on Immunization announced Tuesday, provinces and territories should start preparing plans to roll out fourth shots in the coming weeks, prioritizing those 80 and older and residents in long-term care.

In the U.S., Chief Medical Advisor Dr Anthony Fauci is recommending fourth shots for everyone 12 and over.
