Fans of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo have two ways to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Oscar winning movie “FRIDA.” First, with the film and in Toronto, at an immersive show that celebrates her life and times.

The late Mexican artist is best known for her compelling self portraits and works inspired by her native country.

Kahlo was the first Mexican artist to be shown in the Louvre.  Her 1949 painting “DIEGO AND I” recently sold for $35 million which is the highest amount for Latin American art ever sold at auction.

Kahlo died in 1954 at the the age at the age of 47.

“Immersive Frida” opens to the public today at 1 Yonge Street.
