The federal budget will be tabled a week Thursday on April 7th.
When Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland last presented a fiscal update in December, the forecasts for the Canadian economy and inflation were impacted by the Omicron wave.
But it suggested inflation could return to its two per cent target by late this year and the deficit would be down slightly.
The budget — the first since last September’s federal election — is expected to include increased defence spending as well as funding for dental care that’s part of the new Liberal-NDP agreement.
The vote on the budget which is typically considered a test of confidence for a minority government, is expected to pass given the New Democrats have already committed their support.
