COVID cases and hospitalizations are once again on the rise in many parts of Europe and Asia. Tuesday, Scotland has announced it reversing its plan to drop the mask mandates. China has ordered 51 million into lockdown  as that country experiences the worst COVID crisis since early 2020.

Some Toronto epidemiologists say we may be in for a spring wave in Canada. Health Minister Christine Elliott says the provincial science experts are following the BA.2 variant closely.

“We expect that it may be 50 % of the cases we have in Ontario within the next short period of time, but the evidence suggests that in Ontario at least, it is a sub variant of the Omicron variant and it’s not causing more hospitalizations or more intensive treatments,” Elliot told reporters.

Both Elliott and Premier Doug Ford says Ontario is being cautious and that the health care sector is in better shape now.
due to COVID-19.
