He was a familiar face on TV over the years, probably best remembered as Mindy’s father on the hit late 70’s sitcom “Mork and Mindy.”
Conrad Janis, actor, skilled jazz musician and gallerist who was well known in the New York art world, has died.
While starring in the romantic comedy “Sunday in New York” on Broadway. Janis would play trombone at a Manhattan night club after the play ended on Friday and Saturday nights.
While shooting “Mork and Mindy” in Los Angeles, he played with the Beverly Hills Unlisted Jazz Band at a club in Beverly Hills. When not on onstage or on the bandstand, he could often be found at his father’s art gallery.
Conrad Janis was 94.
