Celebrated Canadian rocker Bryan Adams is heading into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at a gala set for Massey Hall September 24.
Joining Adams will be his frequent collaborator and friend Jim Vallance.
They met at a Vancouver record store in the late 1970s, leading to a lifelong professional partnership.
Their 1983 album ”Cuts Like a Knife,” resulted in three hits, including ”Straight From the Heart.”
It also won Adams the Juno Award for male vocalist of the year and both of them a shared honour as composers of the year.
They followed up that with ”Reckless,’ which hit No. 1 on the Canadian and U.S. album charts with hits ”Summer of ’69,” “Run to You,” and ”Heaven,” the duo’s first chart topping single.
Vallance also wrote songs for Glass tiger, Anne Murray and co-wrote Heart’s ”What About Love,” which went into the Hall of Fame last year.
Adams is set to release his 15th studio album ”So Happy It Hurts” this Friday.
He’s also a celebrated photographer, who’s shot a number of stars for Zoomer Magazine.
