Russia’s war, soaring gas prices and the coming the 2nd anniversary of the pandemic this Friday are all leaving Canadians feeling “fragile.”

Darrell Bricker of Ipsos Public Affairs spoke about the head space of Canadians these days while on Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with guest host Jane Brown.

“That’s exactly how people are feeling,” Bricker explained, “And what happens when people start to feel that way is their horizon is a lot shorter so they stop thinking, what’s going to happen five years from now and start thinking, what’s going to happen tomorrow and next week. And the other thing that happens is that their concerns become less global, less community oriented abd become very personal and start thinking about how these things are affecting them.”

Bricker pointed out, a year ago Canadians were starting to think “happy days are here again” with the roll out of the COVID vaccine, but he said, that’s not how most people are feeling now.
