Over the years, his many roles included the heroin-dealing, retired general opposite Danny Glover and Mel Gibson in in the action movie “Lethal Weapon.”

Mitchell Ryan, was also known for his role in the Gothic soap opera “Dark Shadows.”

Ryan died over the weekend of heart failure in Los Angeles.

In all, he enjoyed an acting career that spanned more than 50-years.

Mitchell Ryan was 88.
