Russia will not be welcome at September’s Toronto International Film Festival.
TIFF announced they intend to suspend participation by organizations, official delegations and media outlets backed by the Kremlin.
However, TIFF will continue to include films from independent Russian filmmakers at the festival and in its year-round programming at the TIFF Bell Lightbox.
In a statement, TIFF says it stands against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. They add their hope there is a return to peace and stability in the region.
