The biggest change in Ontario’s COVID-19 restrictions comes tomorrow, Tuesday March 1, when proof of vaccination requirements will be lifted for indoor settings. But businesses can still choose to keep the mandate to ensure the safety of their staff and customers.

Premier Doug Ford was asked about the safety of dining indoors with those not vaccinated.

“And there’s no doubt, still be cautious, it’s not going to be the wild west, we aren’t through this yet, we see the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter every day but we’re just glad through hard work, everyone in Ontario will be able to take the next step,” said Premier Ford.

Vaccine requirements for some sectors like long-term care and health care will remain in place for now.

Capacity limits in all other indoor public settings will also be lifted as of Tuesday.

Masking will remain in place for now, however officials have hinted that could be lifted sometime in March.

“I’m listening to the Chief Medical Officer and it’s his advice when they’re going to come off and we’ll wait for his advice and recommendations,” said Ford. “What I’m hearing, maybe after the March break, but we’ll see.”

Doug Ford was asked if he’s awaken his ‘inner Liberal’ after announcing today a minimum 15 dollar wage for gig economy workers. When he first took office, the Premier said no to a new higher minimum wage.

“My kids call me a bleeding heart Liberal but I’m a fiscal conservative so it’s all good, I don’t like political stripes, it doesn’t matter what colour red, green, orange or blue,” added Ford.
