Ottawa is easing border measures for fully vaccinated travellers starting February 28th.

“This means that fully vaccinated travellers arriving to Canada from any country in the world will only need to take a PCR COVID-19 test if they are randomly selected and fully vaccinated travellers who are selected for this mandatory randomized testing regime will no longer be required to quarantine while awaiting test results,” said Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos.

He says travellers can instead opt for a rapid antigen test approved by the country they’re coming from.

Unvaccinated Canadian adults still need to be tested at the airport and isolate upon arrival.

Unvaccinated children travelling with vaccinated adults who come to Canada will no longer have to isolate from school or daycare for 14 days.

The recommendation against all non-essential international travel has also been lifted.

Currently, all travellers – regardless of vaccine status – must provide proof of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of their scheduled flight or land entry into Canada.
