CHICAGO BLUES MASTER JIMMY JOHNSON DEAD AT 93

He was a guitar blues master from Chicago who influenced a generation of artists including the Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Eric Clapton.

Jimmy Johnson grew up picking cotton and listening to the blues in his native Mississippi before moving north.

Like many black American artists, he first found widespread acclaim playing in Europe.

His family has announced his death.  No cause was given.

Jimmy Johnson, was 93.
