He was one half of the renowned lounge duo Marty and Elayne.

Marty Roberts has died of cancer at the age of 89.

Roberts’ daughter Hali announced the death on social media.

She posted, “My mom and I are devastated by his loss and there is nobody that could ever take his place.”

For 40 years, the married duo Marty and Elayne performed six nights a week at the Dresden Room in Los Angeles.

Marty played the drums and standup bass. Elayne was on piano and flute.

They performed for the likes of Frank Sinatra and Julia Roberts.

Marty and Elayne also had a cameo in the 1996 movie Swingers.
