She was only four when she she gave her first recital and was five when she was recorded for the first time by the BBC in 1930.
Now were hearing that American child prodigy Ruth Slenczynska will release a new album at the age of 97.
She’s believed to be the last surviving pupil of Sergei Rachmaninoff.
Last year, she recorded “My Life in Music,” featuring the work of Rachmaninoff and Frederic Chopin, after signing a deal with Decca Records.
Ruth Slenczynska, was born in Sacramento, California to
a polish violinist and former head of the Warsaw Conservatory.
She turns 97 Saturday. The album drops March 18th.
