A record number of patients are in Ontario hospitals infected with COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health says there are currently, 2,472 patients in the province with the virus. That beats the previous record of 2,360 hospitalized patients set on April 20, 21.
The latest numbers are an increase of 193 patients hospitalized on Thursday.
The province also logged 11,899 new COVID-19 infections on Friday but the numbers are now far below what is likely the real situation as testing has been greatly scaled back.
43 deaths have been reported on Friday. The province says 42 of those were in the past 10 days.
There are also now 338 patients in ICU with the virus. That’s an increase of 19 patients from Thursday.
