Ontario students are heading back to schools on Wednesday.

When they do, schools will not be collecting and sharing COVID-19 case data. This according to a memo shared by the opposition NDP.

Education critic Marit Stiles says the Ford government is cancelling the sharing of information in schools and day care centres.

Stiles will be a guest Monday on Zoomer Radio’s “Fight Back” with guest host Bob Komsic.

The memo says reporting of cases in schools is being halted due to “changes to case and contact management.”

Stiles also points out principals still do have a requirement to report infectious disease outbreaks as mandated by the Education Act.

Students were supposed to return to schools on Monday. But that was delayed to allow for more time for officials to distributed more HEPA filters to classrooms and N95 masks to teachers.
