Toronto’s New Year’s Eve celebrations will largely be held online.
The city will stream a programme of events on the City of Toronto culture Youtube page.
The event will feature a series of musical acts and will culminate in high altitude fireworks along the waterfront starting at midnight.
Nathan Phillips Square has historically been the city’s focal point of New Year’s celebrations. But due to the Omicron variant, there are no official events held there this year.
The skating rink will be open but the Cavalcade of Lights will be shut off at 10pm.
City officials are encouraging people to stay home this New Year’s Eve and celebrate with those in your households.
