Canada’s Prime Minister is urging Canadians to keep showing up for one another as COVID-19 cases surge across the country.

In his Christmas message, Justin Trudeau says there is still reason to be hopeful and that brighter days are ahead.

“Over the past year, we helped our neighbours, we supported local businesses, we stayed home, skipped celebrations and wore masks to keep each other safe.”

Trudeau urges Canadians to continue being “safe and smart” in order to finish the fight against COVID-19. He also is urging everyone to keep showing up for one another by following public health measures and encouraging friends and family to get vaccinated and boosted.
