Grieving friends and relatives are telling a Brampton court about their shock following a crash that killed a mother and her three young children last year.
Victim impact statements began this morning in the trial of Brady Robertson, charged in the death of Karolina Ciasullo and her three daughters aged 6, 3 and 1.
Karolina’s sister Anna Martin says the tragedy has left her two young sons are afraid to get into a car.
“My four year old always asks me, are they coming back from heaven and it’s hard to explain to them that they’ll never see their cousins again and we’re just left alone,” said Anna outside the courthouse.
Robertson has pleaded guilty to four counts of dangerous driving causing death in connection with the June 2020 collision.
But he’s pleaded not guilty to four counts of impaired driving causing death.
His lawyers have filed a constitutional challenge against the law on cannabis-impaired driving.
