He will always be remembered as the man who penned the Canadian classic “Signs.”
Five Man Electrical Band leader Les Emmerson has died of complications from COVID-19.
His family confirms the singer, songwriter and guitar player, who had battled health issues this year, contracted COVID in November and died in the ICU at Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa.
“Signs” went to Number 3 on the U.S. singles chart in 1970.
Emmerson was elected into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2008.
Les Emmerson was 77.
