Former U.S. Presidential candidate Bob Dole has died.
Dole fought in the second world war. He suffered serious injuries while fighting in Italy.
He recovered and would go onto represent Kanses in the Senate from 1969 to 1996.
He became one of the most influential leaders in the Senate.
He would lose to President Bill Clinton in the 1996 election.
Dole announced in February he had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.
Dole was 98 years old.
