Mirvish theatres here in Toronto will pay tribute to the late Stephen Sondheim on Tuesday night.

The CAA Ed Mirvish, Princess of Wales and Royal Alexandra theatres will all dim their lights at eight o’clock tomorrow night to honour Sondheim.

Mirvish says dimming marquee lights at 8pm, the customary curtain time, is the highest honour for someone in the industry.

Nine of Sondheim’s shows have been staged at Mirvish theatres over the years.

Sondheim died Friday at the age of 91.
