BROADWAY STAR CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH U.S. CAPITOL SIEGE

The Broadway performer who plays Judas in the touring Jesus Christ Superstar show has been charged with breaching the US capitol.

James D. Beeks, a musical theater actor with multiple Broadway credits was arrested on charges related to the January 6th in Washington. Officials allege the 49-year-old he was part of the mob that attacked law enforcement on the Capitol.

Earlier this week, Beeks was was still listed on the Jesus Christ Superstar’s U-S tour cast page. Federal investigators apparently attended several performances this month to observe him.

His other Broadway credits include Kinky Boots and he’s also a self-described Michael Jackson tribute artist.

The U.S. touring production company suspended Beeks from its ensemble after the charges were announced.
